Devised solutions to problems involving failure analysis, retrofit, upgrade of existing equipment and systems, and completely new designs. Communicated with other engineering disciplines, project managers, sales representatives, contractors, project requestors, and more to coordinate our efforts and yield the optimal solution. Acquired technical knowledge with first-hand exposure to mechanical systems, including HVAC, dust collection, spray booths, cooling towers, hydronics, generator exhaust, and more.Projects included:• Model Shop Spray Booth Cooling: Asked to provide cooling and humidity control to an enclosed spray booth by the model shop manager. Provided him with cost estimates after an investigation of as-built drawings and the building’s existing layout. Communication led to a shift of focus in the project towards spot cooling for the painter. Devised a duct design branching off the main and into the booth after ensuring fan capacity. Explained design to mechanical contractor who installed the ductwork. Saved more than $100,000 by communicating and determining the manager’s intent of the project.• Brass Dust Collection Monitoring and Maintenance: Requested by a new plant manager to examine the dust collection system in a brass polishing and buffing facility in fear of potential fires. Documented the air velocities of ductwork by creating a numerical identification system and measuring in the field with an anemometer. Convened with the maintenance team, mechanical contractor, and CAD associates to ensure future cross-communication, immediate updates of drawings after plant changes, and a formalized maintenance program.
