I was a chemistry graduate and a premedical student, but after working as a medical scribe I realized that I would never have been happy in medicine. Feeling lost, I looked to my some of my passions: mathematics, computers, and creating things. Now I'm returning to school to pursue my true passion: creating software and solving modern problems. My journey into computer science begun way before I thought about careers. Back when I was just a kid, I was trying to make small modifications to video games like Minecraft and doing things my way, even if I had to figure things out myself. As I've grown older I've channeled this energy into a life-long passion for learning. Before returning to school I taught myself the basics of Python and C++, learned about data structures and algorithms so I could start doing Leetcode, and now I'm pursuing knowledge about popular frameworks, like QT, so I can develop full applications. Now I'm returning to the University of Florida to fill the gaps in my knowledge and go further beyond.I am proficient in Python and C++ and have experience developing for both Windows and Linux. I have experience using common build tools such as CMake, GNU Make, GNU Debugger, and Git. I'm currently learning about the QT framework. I have an interest in developing in C++, and I'm exploring other specialties within that. Two specialties I have an interest in are scientific computing, due to my background in chemistry, and embedded systems.I am currently looking for software engineering internship opportunities where I can grow as a developer, make a real impact, and work with other passionate professionals.
