Facilitated and led discussions surrounding first-year experiences at the University level. Students in this course were just entering the college life and this course allowed them to meet other first-year students and learn about the resources available to them as a San Diego University student. It was my job to research these sources and have discussions around anything the students may have concerns about as they transitioned to university life.

As an environmental fellow through Yale School of the Environment I was placed at the Mystic Aquarium over the Summer of 2023 to assist the education department fulfill EPA Environmental Education grant guidelines. I mentor and oversaw the onboarding, training, and daily activities for 6 high school aged students who worked at the aquarium over the summer. We worked on creating educational material, trail restoration, and learning workplace etiquette.Aside from guiding these high school students, I completed 3 citizen science projects where I collected macroalgae data around Mystic water bodies and tracked Common Tern sightings at a Connecticut State Beach.

- Worked alongside the City’s Environmental Program Manager to implement specific measures and key actions from the City’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) related to energy efficiency, water efficiency, zero waste, renewable energy, greenhouse gas emissions, transportation, and green infrastructure.- Analyzed and benchmarked municipal utility data to create a baseline and identify utility savings- Researched efficiency strategies to implement in the City’s municipal facilities utilizing tools, such as the La Mesa Energy Roadmap (energy audit completed recently by regional partner)- Researched new and innovative strategies to address CAP measures and key actions- Carried on research to benchmark GHG emissions for municipal facilities- Developed and author the La Mesa Energy Efficiency and Municipal Facilities and Operations report that highlights the City’s current and future CAP key actions related to energy efficiency and municipal facility operations- Provided recommendations and present to senior management- Worked collaboratively across all departments (Public Works, Community Development, Community Services, City Manager’s Office, Finance, Police, and Fire)- Assisted with tracking and recording environmental legislation and regulatory rules that impact City facilities and operations- Networked with regional partners to identify opportunities to collaborate- Showcased the City’s facilities as model environmental sustainability examples
