Jacqueline managed a team of over 30 members and was a member of the IAL Executive Committee. She regularly briefed colleagues and boards about governance matters and projects including complex development funds and acquisitions. The role included: Legal: establishing structures for third party equity and debt funding for the development of new retirement village and aged care facilities, dispute resolution and litigation management, acquisitions of land and businesses, creation of and advice on construction and development contracts and issues arising from these, processing of resident documents in both freehold and leasehold villages as well as aged care resident documents, advising on Aged Care Act and retirement village law compliance. The legal component also included compliance activities which covered staff compliance training and probity checks, compliance calendar maintenance and notifications, legislative updates and liaison with Departments of Health and other authorities. Risk: setting risk management direction for IAL including a 5 year plan for risk management activities, overseeing risk management meetings and collation of risk registers, creation and testing of emergency response and business continuity plans.Quality: setting, maintenance of and auditing of clinical and non-clinical standards, responses to authorities, complaints reporting and assisting with accreditation. -
