Served as the Brigade Assistant Intelligence Officer (AS-2) for a Combat Aviation Brigade consisting of four Aviation Battalions and one Support Battalion, and over 2500 Soldiers throughout the Brigade. Responsible for the support, intelligence, and security of all Battalion and Brigade operations. Responsible for the command inspection programs to include, Physical Security, Information Security, and Intelligence Oversight. Assisted with Personnel Security and Security Management to provide customer support. Contributed to the increased capabilities, knowledge, and skills of the Brigade’s Intelligence teams by planning, coordinating, and following through the execution of the intelligence training. Took the lead in preparing subordinate units for Department of Emergency Service (DES) Physical Security (PHYSEC) Inspections. Re-established a local Physical Security plan based on updated regulations and policy.

Deployed to Afghanistan as the Task Force Intelligence Officer (S-2). Supervised the intelligence section while conducting intelligence analysis in support of daily operations and provided real time situational awareness. Was the lead intelligence planner for over 100 intelligence threat briefs to rotary wing operations in a dynamic environment, while developing the enemy scheme of maneuver. Supported the Bagram Ground Defense Area (BGDA) targeting working group and played a key role in force protection to the ground force units. Was able to provide the Task Force with situational awareness across the theater of operations by providing six daily Operations and Intelligence (O&I) briefs to air crews, and threat briefs for Soldiers arriving to Afghanistan.

Responsible for quality and control of intelligence analysis and products developed by the Battalion S-2 section; provides predictive, timely and relevant analysis to subordinate and lateral unites Provide predictive, timely, and relevant analysis to subordinate and lateral units during tactical operations in order to influence and shape the battlefield. Responsible for management and oversight of the command Organizational Inspection Program areas of Physical Security, Information Security, Personnel Security, Intelligence Oversight, and Threat Awareness and Assessment. Served as a Company Safety Officer, Battalion Unit Status Report Officer, and Family Readiness Liaison Officer.Projected self-confidence as the Battalion’s subject matter expert on all matters that pertain to the Intelligence Warfighting Function and Security Management. Served as the Officer in Charge (OIC) during various Warfighter exercises and command post exercises. Lead the intelligence section in Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield and advising the Battalion Commander of the enemy threat during a tactical scenario. Acted as the S-2 OIC during Defense Support of Civil Authorities during validation exercises, providing the Commander with Incident Awareness and Assessment support. Incident Awareness and Assessment support was vital during unit response during Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Maria in 2017. Developed a method to track the security measures for all arms rooms, safes, vaults, and PDS boxes within the Battalion footprint.

Responsible for the health, welfare, morale, discipline, and mission readiness of a thirteen Soldier platoon consisting of six non-commissioned officers, and seven junior enlisted Soldiers. Ensure Soldier readiness through the maintenance of personnel and training records, while improving training and specific skill proficiency. Provide intelligence Collection support to all maneuver battalions. Responsible for the accountability and maintenance of mutli-million dollars worth of Human Intelligence (HUMINT) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) equipment.

Attended an introductory course to the Military Intelligence Branch. Learned how to integrate intelligence and information from all relevant sources to analyze situations or conditions that impact operations. Attained an understanding of the tactical concepts of both friendly and threat operations. Received initial training for duties including directing, supervising, and coordinating the planning, collection, processing, production, and dissemination of all-source intelligence at all echelons. Became well versed in the Army intelligence process that consists of four steps (plan, direct, collect, produce and disseminate) and two continuing activities (analyze and assess). Demonstrated an understanding, application, analysis, and synthesis of intelligence operations at the Battalion and Brigade levels. Showcased the ability to apply relevant perspective to intelligence products and briefings with the Targeting briefing, earning Superior rating from instructors. Demonstrated tactical and technical proficiency during the FTX by successfully the warrior tasks and battle drills.Knowledge gained will be used to provide intelligence support to mission command and to enhance the commander’s situational understanding.
