Deployment To Afghanistan - Task Force Intelligence Officer (S-2)
Deployed to Afghanistan as the Task Force Intelligence Officer (S-2). Supervised the intelligence section while conducting intelligence analysis in support of daily operations and provided real time situational awareness. Was the lead intelligence planner for over 100 intelligence threat briefs to rotary wing operations in a dynamic environment, while developing the enemy scheme of maneuver. Supported the Bagram Ground Defense Area (BGDA) targeting working group and played a key role in force protection to the ground force units. Was able to provide the Task Force with situational awareness across the theater of operations by providing six daily Operations and Intelligence (O&I) briefs to air crews, and threat briefs for Soldiers arriving to Afghanistan.
Battalion Intelligence Officer (S-2)
Served as the Intelligence officer (S-2) for a General Support Aviation Battalion consisting of seven companies and over 500 Soldiers. Responsible for the support, intelligence and security of all Brigade and Battalion Operations. Ensure unit and Soldier readiness through Security Management and training. Conduct Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield to support Brigade and Battalion operations. Responsible for quality and control of intelligence analysis and products developed by the Battalion S-2 section; provides predictive, timely and relevant analysis to subordinate and lateral unites Provide predictive, timely, and relevant analysis to subordinate and lateral units during tactical operations in order to influence and shape the battlefield. Responsible for management and oversight of the command Organizational Inspection Program areas of Physical Security, Information Security, Personnel Security, Intelligence Oversight, and Threat Awareness and Assessment. Served as a Company Safety Officer, Battalion Unit Status Report Officer, and Family Readiness Liaison Officer.Projected self-confidence as the Battalion’s subject matter expert on all matters that pertain to the Intelligence Warfighting Function and Security Management. Served as the Officer in Charge (OIC) during various Warfighter exercises and command post exercises. Lead the intelligence section in Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield and advising the Battalion Commander of the enemy threat during a tactical scenario. Acted as the S-2 OIC during Defense Support of Civil Authorities during validation exercises, providing the Commander with Incident Awareness and Assessment support. Incident Awareness and Assessment support was vital during unit response during Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Maria in 2017. Developed a method to track the security measures for all arms rooms, safes, vaults, and PDS boxes within the Battalion footprint.
