A global, 21st century philanthropy, the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation (PJMF) is committed to bridging the frontiers of artificial intelligence, data science, and social impact. As part of the Strategy & Innovation team, I lead PJMF’s efforts to build resources and learning experiences to support organizations in progressing on their AI journey.

Code Tenderloin works to remove barriers that keep people from securing long term employment, such as: finances, legal, soft skills, childcare, transportation, and education. I volunteer with Code Tenderloin running the technical course offerings, where individuals are often getting their first taste at what a career in coding would mean. In addition, I work to continuously strengthening our curriculum, coordinate our technical volunteer base, and build partnerships with potential employers or advanced technical training programs — always iterating on ways to best support our learners.

Airbnb's mission is to create a world where anyone can belong anywhere. I worked to build Airbnb’s Connect engineering apprenticeship program to train and support new engineering talent from non-traditional backgrounds to build up their technical skills.

Khan Academy is an education non-profit providing free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. As a Devops engineer on the Khan Academy Infrastructure team, I contribute to ensuring our site infrastructure is stable and performant so we can continue to grow and serve millions of learners across the globe, while also supporting our engineering team with the dev and deployment tools they need to do their best work.

Hackbright Academy is the leading engineering school for women with a mission to increase female representation in tech through education, mentorship and community. As a Teaching Assistant, I guided lab exercises to support concepts presented in lecture and directly advised a group of students each week through 1-on-1 checkins and project scoping. In addition, I worked with the Director of Part-Time Education to revamp the intro course curriculum.

IDEO.org works to bring human-centered design and social innovation to poverty-related challenges around the globe. As communications specialist, I help to spread the word about IDEO.org's programs and projects. Through platforms such as IDEO.org's website, HCDConnect.org, and social media, I work to tell the stories of human-centered design and leverage the voice of other human-centered designers to ultimately increase the number of innovative solutions to the worlds toughest challenges.

IDEO.org works to bring human-centered design thinking and social innovation to poverty-related challenges around the globe. My role as community manager involves managing IDEO.org's online HCD Connect network of over 33,000 users, driving the social media presence for IDEO.org, and assisting with IDEO.org website content.

Bike Zambia, a project of Chooda, has the mission of riding bicycles in Zambia to enrich, empower and sustain communities affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty. As planning committee lead, I manage Bike Zambia's communications, project logistics, fundraising, and web development. In its two years running, Bike Zambia has raised over $270,000 for four beneficiary organizations. As a scribe, I shadow physicians during patient visits in order to maintain charts, documenting history of present illness and the physical exam.

URCSF (Uganda Rural Community Support Foundation) is a grassroots organization providing rural farmers with improved training in modern farming practices in order to improve livelihoods. I am working closely with both URCSF and Groundwork Opportunities to structure and pilot an agricultural-specific micro lending program.

As part of the Strategic Initiatives team, I worked to help bring on new non-MFI, socially-minded organizations to Kiva's growing community of field partners. I also spent part of my time at Kiva helping out on the Lender Communications team.
