I am a dynamic and conscientious leader specializing in climate change adaptation and environmental sustainability. I have extensive experience in budget planning, grant program management, and project impact verification. With a Master of Science in Environmental Management, I have over 20 years of experience across a wide range of roles and industries. From 2017 to October 2022, I was the Funding Manager for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM)’s Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program (MCIP) which was a $75 million program funded by Infrastructure Canada, to provide funding, training, capacity building, and resources to help municipalities adapt to the impacts of climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. I was involved in the entire lifecycle of MCIP – from the design of its unique programs, processes, policies, and tools through to project approvals, contracting, disbursements, program evaluation and program closure. My main priority was to lead a motivated and empowered team as they provided superior client service during the grant recipient application, contracting, and disbursement phases of the funded projects. My team was also responsible for verifying and measuring environmental, gender equality and diversity, and vulnerable populations results from funded projects.Prior to my role as Funding Manager, I was a Project Officer with FCM’s Green Municipal Fund (GMF). I managed a portfolio of project files through the GMF application cycle, I conducted technical reviews assessing the environmental, social, and economic benefits of these initiatives, and provided recommendations for improvement. Once peer reviewed, I defended the files at the GMF Council meetings.At an environmental consultancy in the UK - Impetus Consulting, I researched for and wrote case studies, briefing notes and newsletter articles promoting sustainable energy use, renewable technology, and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System. Furthermore, I wrote several chapters of a greening small businesses book, ‘The Good Green Guide to Small Businesses’ published in November 2008.
