Provide human trafficking-related technical assistance relating to victim identification, HHS OTIP child eligibility letters, and immigration cases. Lead human trafficking trainings for target stakeholders and practitioners.Conduct eligibility screenings, client interviews, and legal research. Represent clients in proceedings and applications for immigration relief including T Visas, Special Interest Orders in state dependency court, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, VAWA Self-Petitions, and others. Provide training and mentoring to GLS attorneys and paralegals working on the DOJ/OVC Specialized Services for Human Trafficking grant and on matters relating to children. Supervise a paralegal and multiple pro bono volunteers. Assist with grant reporting for the DOJ/OVC grant. During part-time status (November 2024-March 2025) supervision duties are shared with a managing attorney.Collaborate with practitioners and agencies serving foreign national children and survivors of human trafficking. Represent GLS at meetings with Freedom Network, FL children's legal service providers, Immigration & Child Welfare Practice Network, and FL Statewide Coalition Combatting Labor Trafficking. Collaborated with dependency system stakeholders in Hillsborough County to develop a referral process for foreign national dependent children and engage in ongoing troubleshooting.
