Commissioning of New Built Super Critical Power Station.Largest Dry Cooled Power Station in the world.4th Largest Coal Fired Station in the world.•As an authorized Snr Controller I am responsible for the safety, generation and environmental performance of the 4800 MW Super Critical Power Station•Providing supervision to the Production Technicians ensuring plant performance is optimized and maintenance activities are carried out to ensure plant availability and reliability are maximized•Implement and follow the companies’ health, safety and environmental management policies•Participate in the HSE forum and initiate company/site HSE initiatives and activities, including procedure reviews on a periodic basis•Responsible for utilizing ‘on shift’ maintenance skills to carry out routine maintenance and repairs to emergent defects•Providing supervision of Production Technicians to include first line fault finding, technical advice and back up, particularly in dynamic conditions such as unit start-up or trip•Coordinating safety with regard to work activities, releasing plant for maintenance and carrying out isolation, high voltage switching and preparation and issue of safety documentation•Carrying out dynamic safety risk assessments to ensure that adequate shift cover is in place to meet the commercial needs•Undertaking the role of emergency controller, responsible for managing all site emergencies safely and in line with local procedures•Shift logging, ensuring quality defect reporting, fault reporting and writing and review of operational work specifications•Outage planning, scheduling and co-ordination and other project work as delegated•Using Root Cause Analysis tools to create detailed plant incident reports for any loss of generation and any health, safety and environmental incidents

Issuing and Clearing of Permits. Assist with Unit Light-ups and Shut Downs.Co-ordinate control room and associated external auxiliary activities to enable operation of: 4x 500MW Coal and Biomass fired boilers and turbine units, 2x 65MW Avon Open Cycle Gas/Diesel Gas fired Turbines.Plan, co-ordinate and monitor process to ensure optimal plant and resource utilisation in meeting production demands consistent with safety and environmental standards. Liase between Production and Maintenance Departments. Act as Shift Manager and issue and clearing of Permits on LV and HV Systems.S.A.P. Authorised and Control Engineer.S.E.A.R.'s investigations.Issuing and Clearing of Gas Test, Crane lift and Excavation Certificates.Co-ordinate control room and associated external auxiliary activities to enable operation of: 2x 660MW oil/gas fired Rankin steam boiler turbine units, 3x 265MW advanced Siemens Gas Turbines and associated HRSG's, and 2x 120MW Open Cycle Diesel/Gas fired John Brown Gas Turbines.Plan, co-ordinate and monitor process to ensure optimal plant and resource utilisation in meeting production demands consistent with safety and environmental standards. Provides technical support to shift team and maintenance staff as well as fault finding and incident investigations. Solve those issues with the team or source engineering and maintenance assisstance. Operate control systems as required from control room panels. Acts as Incident Controller during emergency situations and form part of shift fire team.

Operate 665MW and 715MW Boilers and Turbines. Issue and Clearing of Work Permits. Coaching of Peers. Mentoring of Peers.Control and operate the Turbine, Boiler, Generator and auxiliary systems of a 665MW dry-cooled or 712MW wet-cooled coal fired unit. On job trainer for new control room operators. Assist Electrical, Mechanical and I&C departments with basic fault finding.Do loading and perform Permitry duties.
