With 37 years of experience in the steel tank building industry, Jacques is highly respected for his expertise in engineering, down-to-earth style of leadership, and genuine concern for the health, safety and well-being of the company’s employees.Jacques graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1978 from Quebec City’s Laval University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Structural Steel from Laval University, which he completed in 1981. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Ontario and Ontario Society of Professional Engineers.After spending two years supervising design and field operations at a Toronto-based engineering consulting firm, he joined Canerector Inc.’s Mississauga office as a Sales Engineer in 1983. His first major promotion came in late 1984, when he was transferred to TIW’s sister company AlloyTech (a pipe spooling shop) as General Manager, supervising a 30-member staff and looking after budgets, union issues and business growth.By the time a recession hit in the late 1980s, Jacques had taken his engineering expertise back to the field with TIW, serving as a Project Engineer on several projects and refinery shutdowns. After a decade of field engineering & project management positions, he moved to TIW’s new headquarters in St. Catharines in 1995, accepting a senior management role of Contracts Manager. During this period, he managed and oversaw multiple departments.With an in-depth understanding of field operations and a unique hands-on approach to leadership, he diversified and broadened his experience, quarterbacking all contracts, being intricately involved and connected to the heartbeat of the company. In 2014, he was promoted to the position of President and General Manager, where his zeal, inspirational leadership and committed work ethic guided the company until 2020. Jacques retired from the Company on February 29, 2020.
