Jacques is a senior multi-disciplinary draughtsperson and designer at Zutari, specialising in the detail drawing of large and small infrastructure projects for mines and ports, and coordinating of drawings such as blockplans, which are updated regularly throughout the course of a project. He specialises in mining and associated infrastructure as well as working with external references, aerial photos, civil services, details, and services coordination (with different coordinate systems). Conversion of .dwg files to .dgn and exporting to a coordinated kmz file into Google Earth using MicroStation. He has over 15 years of experience in civil drawings on projects in South Africa, Australia, Mozambique, United Arab Emirates, Congo, and Gabon.His duties include developing and checking drawings before being issued to client/contractors, working with designers and draughters to ensure a smooth transition from drawing office to execution, liaising with the engineers during design and development to ensure drawings meet expectations and ensure that draughters maintain drawing and modelling standards in accordance with discipline requirements. His skills further include 2D road intersection design, Civil 3D road design.Part of his role at Zutari is assisting new team members within the draughting team with general drawing requirements and software related problems as well as maintaining drawing standards, quality and content, setting up standards and templates in AutoCAD, training of junior staff in AutoCAD and providing assistance to produce a higher standard of drawings.
