Working with internal and external clients to define requirements, forecast life-cycle costs, and develop and implement an effective Procurement Operating Plan, with a focus on optimizing cost management strategies, procurement strategies, procurement policies and contract negotiations.Duties and responsibilities Develop detailed sourcing and category plans to maximize effectiveness and efficiency; Manage preparation, implementation and execution of Procurement Operating Plan; Implement procurement processes to ensure efficiency, cost savings and best practices; Work with finance team throughout the procurement cycle to assist with forecasting and budgeting; Perform sourcing, liaising and negotiating with new and existing suppliers to improve business; Provide updates about procurement related progress and potential delays on a daily & weekly basis to the Project Manager; Maintain positive working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met; Analyze market and delivery trends so as to develop procurement strategies and processes that support those trends; Monitor contract performance and compliance in accordance with the contract, procurement management plan, risk management plan and organisational policies and procedures. Identifying and implementing procurement and contracting strategies based on both corporate- and project requirements and goals in terms of:o CBEs;o Project Schedules;o HDSA (BBBEE) ownership of suppliers;o Local procurement spent;o Regional procurement spent; Evaluating procedures to identify opportunities to improve.
