Having developed an interest in IP and its importance to business, I successfully secured a role in The University of Birmingham Tech Transfer Department, working under a Senior Manager. This enabled me to build a stronger understanding of Intellectual Property rights, Market Validation, and the requirements to successfully develop start-up Science and Tech businesses.

Thrown in the deep end, I developed the skills necessary to help a portfolio of growing science and technology companies, addressing their governance and day-to-day needs. The diversity of the tasks meant I was rapidly increasing my knowledge in the Company Secretarial role.

This part time role alongside my studies abroad involved understanding and exceeding the needs of my customers, and being a crucial member in a dynamic environment.Fully qualified under the Responsible Service of Alcohol laws, I drove an enthusiastic and attentive team to host bespoke events within our facility as well as evening restaurant service.Communication, motivation and reliability were vital in providing an exceptional service to customers as well as thriving within our team.

Thriving in this position of responsibility, I managed both the pool and leisure facilities within the sports centre to create a safe and fun environment. Using my skills in customer care, I was frequently asked to cover receptionist duties and organise the transactions taken.As a senior lifeguard I was entrusted with mentoring new team members as well as developing my sales skills when hosting tours of the facilities.

I successfully managed the Rugby Club with a membership of roughly 150 across 5 men’s and 2 women’s teams. I lead the organisation of the two most successful post season dinners to date. I effectively negotiated, purchased and distributed essential sportswear to all club members. I also coordinated a highly popular post season tour abroad for our club members.
