Fund AccountantReview and manage the accounting function for various funds.Develop and manage a team of 4 accountantsResponsible for delivering fund accounts to an extensive list of clients that includes:o Client Fund 1: (GAV: £1,390 Billion) In charge of the final consolidation that includes liaising with local accountants across Europe to finalise the consolidation in line with client deadlines. Consist of 17 individual funds/entities across France, UK, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy and Austriao Client Fund 2:(GAV £1,451 Billion) Consists of 4 funds that involves me to oversee from base up to final financial statements level.o Client Fund 3: (GAV £108 Million) Full accountancy function up to the Holding Company in the fund structure chart. o Client Fund 4: (GAV £120 Million) Full accountancy function at asset level.Skills Acquiredo Systems improvement and development to increase efficiency.o High review of financial information underlying the financial statements, including the treatment of business transactions.o Act as main contact for all complex client queries at higher levels of the fund.o Review of management accounts both at asset and fund level, including supporting files and review of all work produced by assistant accountants.o Review of consolidations adjustments at top fund level o Production of quarterly NAVso Review of VAT returns.o Coaching and developing junior staff members.o Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAPo Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations for which there may be little precedence.o Review bank reconciliations for all client accounts.o Administration work including the preparation and review of call notices, distribution notices and dealing with new applications for subscription into client funds.

VAT: Detailed calculation, submission to SARS and VAT Audits.Pastel: Processing of cashbooks (Bank Statements), debtors and creditors invoicing and Monthly journals in pastel. Doing all accounting related pastel entries till final monthly/yearly trail balance.Reconciliation: Payroll accounts to payroll system (VIP/Pastel payroll). Vat control account to SARS submission, bank accounts to bank statements, Debtors and creditors to statements, Tax account to SARS statement of account. The reconciliation of every Balance sheet account.PAYE: Manual calculation, submission to SARS, EMP501 recons for permanent and casual employees.TAX: Calculating provisional tax twice a year. Submission of Income tax to SARS analysing SARS calculation. Balancing accounts to tax statement of account.Financial Statements: Compiling of monthly management and annual financial statements per IFRS for SME’s. The financial statements consist of a statement of financial position, statement of income, cash flow statement, accounting policies, notes to the financial statements.Caseware: Compiling of financial statements if compilation or a review. Assessing the risk of the engagement and suspicious transactions and doing monthly and yearly journals.
