I was a Project Manager for Boland Bouers and ran +- 4 sites simultaneously on a ongoing base. All projects were in excess of R1m. During my time in this position I learnt a lot about planning, managing and executing large scale projects to the satisfaction of the client.

The site is located in Wupperthal and encompasses the restoration of 11 fire damaged buildings. We carry out all work on the buidlings using the local people and subcontractors. Work ranges from pouring foundations up to installing HVAC systems. I also draw up baseline programs to portray the sequence in which the activities should play out. The administrative duties are also conducted by myself, which includes the compiling of monthly progress reports used during site meetings.

I completed vacation work at Longview Construction CC. The project undertaken was the construction of a new building to house a cheese production line at Crickley Dairy. I gained knowledge in the use of dumpy levels, reading drawing schedules, measuring sizes of bases, concrete volume calculation and also general handling of various plant and equipment used on site.

I worked on a project with two other general workers in constructing a boundary wall around a property. I was involved on the project from the excavation of trenches until handover. I was also involved in making and installing the palisade fencing seen in the photos attached. The total value of the project was approximately R85 000.
