I am a journalism and media studies major at Brooklyn College with a focus in highlighting global issues. I specifically cover issues such as crime in Crown Heights(my neighborhood), period poverty(lack of access to proper materials women need for their period), and taking down stereotypes of disorders such as bipolar disorder or PMDD(Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder), etc. I write for both of my school newspapers, the BC Vanguard and the Brooklyn News Service. I really want to shine light on unheard stories and eliminate stigmas. Prior to college, I did some outreach as a Field Outreach Manager stopping the spread of Covid-19 by making vaccine appointments for people and passing out PPE(Personal Protective Equipment). I also have a lot of experience in aide such as my current job as an HHA(Home Health Aide). I make my patient's life easier by helping with appointments, and running errands. I've been a student aide at my high school and a packer at Uncommon Goods as well. This has taught my how to work in teams and be efficient.
