I have a wealth of industry experience, having worked as a Paraplanner within financial services since 2015. In latter years, I have adopted a Relationship Manager role, acting as a ‘day-to-day’ contact and support for clients.I’ve caught the ‘adviser bug’ and understand that to be someone’s financial adviser it involves far more than advising people on their finances. It’s being someone’s confidant (in both good and bad times) and helping people to understanding their own finances and how they can be used to work towards their life goals and to achieve true financial independence.Ultimately, I thrive on the ability to help people, which is something that remains core to my career aspirations today. Having spoken to so many different clients about their own circumstances, it is clear that no one person’s outlook or drivers are the same and more so, that they can evolve over time. So, a financial services offering should be equally as evolving. I have joined Cockburn Lucas who align with my values to continuously striving to offer the best service for clients, and in a way which is entirely inclusive. Whether it be offering a digitalised service to those that want advice ‘on demand’ to fit around their ever-busy lifestyles, or a female led advisory service dedicated to guiding women through some critical life stages such as pursuing a career, divorce or bereavement. Hardships in life are sadly often inevitable – and my early years were shaped by a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy which was recognised when my parents discovered I was struggling to learn to walk at the age of 2. The condition, and how it presents itself, can be extremely varied by nature. For me it predominantly impacted the left side of my body, which was much weaker than my right. I was able to work with physiotherapists to strengthen this as I grew older and from my early teens onward, I have been lucky enough to live completely free of any further intervention. What it has left me with though, is a sense that nothing should be taken for granted and to reach for your goals in life.Life for me so far in 2022 has included becoming a homeowner and an Auntie for the first time to my twin sister’s beautiful baby girl. They say good things life come in threes and joining Cockburn Lucas, for me, is that magical third.
