Provide high-quality, low-barrier services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, including child sexual abuse victims and their non-offending parents and caregivers in Kennebec, Somerset, Knox, and Waldo counties. Provide advice and limited representation as well as full representation in protection from abuse, divorce, parental rights and responsibilities, and education matters. Assess and triage cases. Provide consultations to staff of the local sexual assault crisis and support center and service providers, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, DHHS, and others involved in the community response team. Put in place systems to most effectively address the holistic legal needs of survivors of sexual assault and non-offending parents of child sexual assault victims. Participate in working groups and coalitions focused on improving the systems that address issues relevant to sexual assault survivors and victims of child sex abuse.
