Johnny Doan (JD) is a migrant settler with Cantonese and South Vietnamese heritage. JD is a Counsellor at Holyoake, Non-Executive Director at Community Arts Network (CAN) and with extensive governance experience. In addition, JD provides strategic advisory services for social impact initiatives, start-ups and non-for-profits. As an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, they mentor emerging leaders from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. JD is a Changemakers Fellow with the Centre for Australian Progress, an alumni of the Office for Multicultural Interests Leadership Program, was the Co-Founder of ProFound Incubator and Co-Director at Paper Mountain. As an artist their work explores cultural diasporic connections, narratives and ritual, having worked with Perth Festival, The Blue Room Theatre and The Last Great Hunt. You can find part of their family's story in the Reflections Gallery at Boorloo Bardip, the Western Australian Museum.Their varied experiences have led them to speak at TEDxUWA, the New Economy Network Australia (NENA) Conference, Performing Lines Kolyang Creative Hub and the Venture Student Innovation Centre.
