I am the Emergency Manager for the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County. I report to the Flagler County Emergency Operations Center during activation and I am the Lead partner for ESF8. I oversee all training and plans specific to emergency or disaster-related incidents. I also supervise Community Health including Diabetes Prevention, Nicotine Cessation Education, Public Information, Minority Health, Workforce Development, and Strategic Planning, including QI Projects. Within my department, I supervise (3) employees who make up our Team.

• Provide an environment consistent with adult learning principals and interactive group sessions focused around tobacco cessation• Facilitate and guide large and small groups in discussion about tobacco toxicity and health, nicotine replacement therapy and non-nicotine pharmacotherapy• Help large and small groups to identify top reasons for quitting tobacco while increasing awareness of their smoking behaviors• Introduce Quitline Support Services• Provide participants with strategies for coping with urges and withdrawal symptoms• Act as a liaison between Florida Hospital Flagler, Florida Department of Health-Flagler County, and Northeast Florida AHEC• Maintaining participants paperwork following HIPAA guidelines• Ability to update, maintain, and track various records and files
