Joined Clark Construction as an Office Engineer working on the Camp Porter Barracks and Infrastructure Project (NAVFAC), which completed the recapitalization program for the Naval Station in Great Lakes. Responsibilities included reviewing, processing, and distributing subcontractor submittals. Have a working knowledge of the project schedule and coordination of RFIs, Owner meetings, Subcontractor meetings, and material deliveries relevant to construction schedule.Transferred to the San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC - USACE) Project during the late preconstruction phase as a Project Engineer. Challenged with developing submittal registers that followed USACE stringent guidelines. Key trades included structural steel, masonry, concrete, demolition, and interior finishes. Additional roles included management of and implementation of renovation Infectious Control Risk Assessment (ICRA), Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), and Owner Changes.Project Engineer Roles & Responsibilities:• Prepare and forward submittals. Understanding knowledge of the technical characteristics of the work involved with the submittal. Confirm submittal complies with plans/specs, and is forwarded in timely fashion. Note any schedule factors associated with the submittal. • Monitor and expedite material deliveries, Clark and Subcontractors. From review of schedule and plan, determined scheduled delivery dates for each item. Taking the action required to assure all deliveries conform with the schedule. Advise the Project Manager immediately with delivery conflicts associated with project schedule.• Chair project meetings as assigned. Prepare the agenda and direct the discussion to that agenda. Insure accurate minutes are taken and distributed to the appropriate parties.• Draft change orders, solicit prices from subs/suppliers, perform scope take off and estimate costs. Negotiate change orders with the Owner. Have understanding of cost engineering system.
