My goal as a teacher is to enhance critical thinking skills through meaningful works of literature and content that will help students become positive citizens and leaders.Writing Workshop PD: Present writing workshops to faculty to ensure that writing activities meet state standards. In addition, ensure writing prompts are real life based and meet 21st Century learning skills.Discipline Committee: Meet with faculty and administration to ensure that our disciplinary actions remain consistent and fair, while addressing old policies that should be updated and new policies that should be enforced as novel issues arise.Program Review Committee: Worked with various staff members to ensure that our school meets state standards in curriculum, teaching methods, extra curricular activities, and skill certification offerings. Vertical Alignment Committee: Worked closely with English teachers from all grade levels to ensure students learn proper writing and reading skills in each grade level, while reinforcing and learning new skills each school year.
