In my role as the Graduate Coordinator for Orientation, I supervised a staff of undergraduate students and oversaw orientation programs accommodating new students and their guests. I assisted with the processes for selecting, training, and evaluating the performance for our student staff and served as a resource in the University transition. My job was dedicated to ensuring new students and their families feel welcome and supported with resources upon arriving at Rowan University and thereafter through our orientation programs.As the Graduate Coordinator for Student Organization Services, I provided support and resources to clubs and organizations at Rowan University. Some of my responsibilities included managing the campus-wide co-curricular engagement software and providing training for student organizations on a variety of topics.

Responsibilities for the voting student trustee include representing the Board of Trustees to the student body and interpreting decisions to the students as well as voicing the opinions of the student body to the highest decision making board of the institution. Student trustees are charged with knowing about the different needs of the region, community, and students, as well as the social, economic, and demographic trends that have implications for education. The voting student trustee is responsible for attending and participating in open board meetings, which included preparing for meetings by studying issues and asking questions as well as influencing decisions by wisely participating in discussions. As a member of the board I was able to suggest and amend policy to ensure that the institution was well-served by the Board of Trustees. I provided detailed student reports to the Board of Trustees and the University Foundation where I sat as a member of The Foundation Board of Directors. The student trustee also holds the Student Government Association Executive Committee Accountability Policy and is responsible for facilitating meaningful conversations as well as establishing and maintaining open communication links between students and the administration. I also served on the Facilities and Operations, Budget and Finance, and Audit sub-committees and helped oversee and manage more than $4 billion dollars in institutional assets.

I was elected to the Executive Board as the AVP of Facilities and Operations in a special election of the Student Government Association Senate in the fall of 2013. I hit the ground running, completely revamping the position, refuting stereotypes, and taking on challenges and tasks that defied perceived barriers and expectations. I represented and voiced opinions for more than 11,000 undergraduate students regarding the areas of campus facilities and operations. I was responsible for meeting with administrators within facilities to stay informed about the state of campus projects as well as develop and execute master plans and seek resolutions to student concerns. I represented students on intensive design charrettes for every major building project on campus and collaborated with university administrators such as Vice Presidents, Assistant Vice Presidents, Deans, and Department Chairs. I also represented the student body at Student Government Executive Committee Meetings and served as a member of the Campus Aesthetics and Environmental Concerns, Library Services, Technology Resources, Intercollegiate Athletics, and Learning Outcomes Assessment Faculty Senate Committees. Additionally, I served as the SGA Facilities and Operations Committee Chair and co-delegated the SGA budget of $1.2 million among student organizations by serving on the Student Financial Control Board.

As an Administrative Intern at Cooper, I was provided a wide-range of professional opportunities, leadership experiences, and hands-on work experiences to apply academic principles to real-world situations. I engaged in challenging and educational experiences that contributed to my education and career goals, including service recovery, developing database systems, and more. Responsibilities included completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner while exhibiting Cooper's Core Values and maintaining a positive, patient-centered attitude.

Eastern Shore Maryland

I volunteered as a research assistant in the Human Performance Lab during the 2012 spring semester at Salisbury University. I performed VO2 max tests on subjects to measure their maximal aerobic capacity as well as other physical measurement tests while conducting research on human performance and nutrition. I also worked on the campus-wide Exercise as Medicine campaign, designed fitness test standards for the project, and assisted subjects during testing.
