My research at Dr. Liu's lab involved DNA aptamer selection against Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts (Biosafety level 2) using SELEX followed by deep sequencing (Illumina).

Das Lab studies Lipid Metabolism by Cytochrome P450 epoxygenases focusing on the kinetics of Cytochrome P450 epoxygenases and the role of novel endocannabinoid epoxides during inflammation and vasodialation. During four month stay at the Das lab, I worked on a review paper looking into membrane receptors for epoxy-endocannabinoids.

Funded by the Arthur Bernardes Foundation (Funarbe).Embrapa is the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, under the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply with research centers throughout Brazil. During the 10 month postdoctoral position at EMBRAPA Cotton, was involved in two projects related to the development of ELISA for the identification of cotton blue disease and identification of begomovirus in cotton leaves via PCR.

Funded by the Brazilian Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).The project involved identification and cloning of Cry genes from soil bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis targeting cotton pests.

G proteins related signal transduction plays an important role in fungal pathogenicity. This research project analysed the role of G protein in disease causing ability of phytopathogenic fungi Fusarium oxysporum by knocking out its G protein alpha subunit genes (alpha1 and alpha2) and comparing the pathogenicity of wild type fungi with its single and double mutants.
