About Jake Burrows
Currently based in Inverurie, Scotland as a Senior Artificial Lift field engineer for Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield services company. I am regularly responsible for the installation, de-commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of Electronic submersible pumps, Variable speed drives, transformers, and monitoring and SCADA equipment. I have an advanced understanding of Electromechanical centrifugal pumps, system wiring and electronic drive boards. The role requires dynamic teamwork capabilities given we have a minimum crew of six for each installation. I am routinely involved with trainee coaching and mentoring, with experience as training Engineer in West Texas. I am fortunate enough to be working in an advanced Engineering field within the energy sector, which allows me to apply my knowledge to a variety of roles and projects.

Created a prototype turbine system that would utilize rainwater as a means of power generation. Investigated several design possibilities and used serval CAD packages to create mock ups, then applied engineering principles to determine feasibility of designs. Utilized established industry practices and technology to create the most practical and cost-effective design which included a float valve design in a storage facility and multiple vein impeller system. It was deemed to not be a viable project due to poor cost returns determined from my report.
