My prior role as Financial Aid Operations Manager for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I assisted the Director for the Office of Financial Aid and Veteran Affairs with managing the day-to-day operation related to the responsibilities of financial aid awarding. I stayed current with federal regulations, state statues, and institutional policies as it related to the awarding and disbursement of federal, state, and institutional aid. I ensured financial aid was awarded in a timely and effective manner, thus assisting the institution to meet enrollment goals. Charged with oversight of financial aid packaging, I assisted in the developing of policy, procedure, and best practices. As Enrollment Management Coordinator with Northern Arizona University, I indirectly supervised over 100 student agents and assisted both current and incoming undergraduate and graduate students. To earn the supporting title of Financial Aid Liaison, I underwent extensive training in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. I awarded financial aid and monitored student account activity in accordance with institution procedural directives. The additional responsibility allowed the Student Contact and Service Centers to maintain efficiency, further productivity and establish need. I have an extensive understanding of student accounts and accounting practices. As an Account Specialist for Student Department Account Services, I was responsible for recognizing a complex array of account activities while strategizing new concepts to simplify current processes for the overall functionality of the department. I can reconcile historical account data and translate activity within terms that counsel and direct students’ needs. As Business Manager, VA Certifying Official, and under direction of the Executive Director for CollegeAmerica, I managed the financial activity for all campus operations. Analyzing quarterly reports and default projections helped me focus on specific need and provided opportunity to create workshops to support those needs. Students were provided resources to uphold payment obligations and retain account good standing or apply for debt forgiveness. I supervised the creation process of internal loans by Financial Planners to ensure a zero-error rate within perfect files.
