After finishing my studies I took up a full-time position in Size in a much smaller store than I had worked in previously, which led to new challenges and a greater emphasis on my individual role. I had worked in this position for just over six months before I was asked to join the management team as a supervisor, which on such a small team meant taking on responsibilities such as cashing up after trade and writing up the relevant paperwork ready for the cash collection company. Eventually the store was moved to a much larger unit and I have had to adjust quickly to this as a senior member of staff. I place great importance on getting to know every one that I work with to create a healthy environment in the work place, that allows people to feel comfortable bringing up any concerns whether they are professional or personal. Maintaining this balance of high expectations and relaxing workplace is a challenge, but one I find extremely important and rewarding.Other than managing staff, I am tasked with completing regular health and safety checklists, building rotas and filling in timesheets to ensure the staff are paid correctly, and managing the store's Instagram to maintain a consistent online engagement with regular customers and also increase exposure to new customers.
