QC Dental Technician for Mitsubishi Chemical UK Specialty Polymers & Resins (MC UK), carrying out quality checks for our dental and medical grade acrylic polymers, as well as advising/assisting our R&D, Production team and customers.I graduated (BSc Hons.) as a Chemist at Teesside University in 2019 where I studied part-time whilst working as a QC analyst at MC UK. My work consisted of working with GC-MS, auto titrators and spectrophotometer equipment.Within 3 years of working at MC UK, I became the sites Dental Technician, responsible for quality testing of all dental and medical polymer grades produced on site. Tests that I carry out daily are representative of their intended end use by our customers.Polymer chemistry is now a key interest of mine since moving to MC UK. I have researched and learnt about conventional and modern dentistry polymers and techniques by working closely with Research and Development teams at MC UK, as well as our customers.I have experience with Suspension Polymerisation, denture base, orthodontic, tray, reline, tooth (including crown and bridge prosthetics) CAD/CAM and medical cement polymers; this includes the equipment and techniques needed to use such materials. I also have experience with mechanical testing of dental/medical polymers using Instron. 3D printing is now a growing part of dentistry, so I ensure I keep up to date with any advances in this technology. I work closely with sales teams and customers to provide customer satisfaction and advice; our customers are located from all around the globe enabling me to work with people from a variety of cultures and experience.
