I have spent the last 8 years in education and have loved every minute of it! Sure there have been bumps in the road, but I wouldn’t change my career choice for anything. I started in education as a paraprofessional for a student with autism. After that I was hired as a special education teacher at Lewis & Clark Jr High. I spent two years doing that at the 7th grade level. Then in 2013, my fiancé at the time and now wife was hired at Galesburg school district so we moved up to the Peoria/Quad City Area. I was hired at Galva School district as PE, health, drivers ed and athletic director. I spent three years in that role and for the last two years I have been the dean of students/AD. All together I have been at Galva for fives years. I have completed my educational leadership courses at WIU and will graduate in May. I look forward to working with students everyday and one day hope to run my own building as the principal!
