Work through work assignments for the shift. - Accountable for manufacturing metrics for their shift. - Manage shop floor performance - Accountable for the health and safety of employees and ensure compliance with all established Health & Safety rules/regulations and the Occupational Health & Safety Act -Conduct required audits as necessary – SOP, safety, 5S, Process etc… - Conduct regular employee communication meetings on shift. - Track training for all hourly employees on shift -Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to product, process and quality system. -Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions. Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. - Ensure production flow of processes by reducing/eliminating bottlenecks on a shift by shift basis. Manning/Scheduling: - Ensure shift is properly manned by qualified employees. Work with Gate House Attendant regarding any absent employees and open positions on shift. - Responsible for ensuring manning of overtime vacancies through proper application of the collective agreement -Communicate any changes in manning to payroll to ensure employees are properly paid -Follow up with employees regarding absenteeism

I work as a Lift attendant at the ski hill while I go to school full time. This is my third season doing this and the second season while attending McMaster. I'm currently a senior attendant which places the responsibility of staff breaks, rotations, and supervising on my assigned ski lift and magic carpet lift as Glen Eden has 3 ski lifts and 3 carpet lifts, 3 senior attendants supervise over these while a singular lead is our manager. During my shifts I observe the actions of my attendants to ensure they are following all of our policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our guests. I also man one of the positions while supervising, writing logs, and communicating with the rest of the departments at Glen Eden as necessary via Short wave radios. I always enjoy working at Glen Eden as they continue to give me opportunities for more responsibility and I get to work outdoors doing many different things each shift. Not to mention I get to meet and talk to new people every 7 seconds.

During my days I am a dispatched technician working entirely on my own with little to no managerial support. I manage my own time and material to ensure my work is done to the best of my ability at the highest efficiency. BTS (Bell Technical Solutions) actually monitored my efficiency through out my entire career at BTS. I averaged approximately 110% to 120% efficiency everyday. My typical day was full of trouble shooting, customer interaction, and opportunities to go further and beyond my job title as a technician. Since I did go above and beyond I received a merit award for my efforts. BTS was a great experience and I would gladly work there again if my career leads me to such.
