I unknowingly started working this industry while serving in the Marine Corps. At that time new regulations required a hand full of Marines to get HAZWOPER certified and then it grew from there. Next thing you know I was attending more classes, writing SOPs, and conducting training more than the primary job the Marine Corps hired me to do. After I completed my military service, I was employed in San Diego with small startup company traveling everywhere installing flow meters. We had this great flow meter called the ADFM that could measure medium and large pipe flows more accurately than anything on the market, this small company is now Teledyne Isco. Fast forwarding to present day, with over 20 years of experience I have had the pleasure of doing most every job in the wastewater and stormwater business including service and maintenance, manufacturing of treatment systems and concrete precast infrastructure. Private industry taught me quality, efficiency, customer service, lean manufacturing and how to grow a business. 8 years in public industry has allowed me to implement skills developed to establish confidence in local government by seeing business through the lens of a customer.
