I wrote and revised a 10-page design document, including an overview, design tenets, UML Class Diagram, idea considerations, and example code. I later implemented my configuration-driven design in Java to increase the scalability of a metrics platform with better code separation and reduced code duplication. Through this, I enabled other Alexa teams to visualize and track metrics related to the quality of their services through the creation of a simple configuration. The restructuring of our service improved the efficiency of the publishing process by 80%, saving my team time and energy while giving more control to the other teams for which we monitored this data.

I worked to enhance the Active Collaboration Social Web Platform using Javascript, HTML, and CSS. Interpreting the existing Java-based GWT implementation, I upgraded parts of the system to be more modular using Declarative UI, enabling an easier transition to newer technologies in the future. I also constructed several Declarative "building blocks" for reuse in Active Workspace, and used these with existing blocks to add new features and functionality to the application.I also had the unique opportunity to participate in the Siemens PLM Software Global Hackathon, during which I worked with a remote team in Cincinnati. Using C#, the Microsoft Bot Framework, and LUIS, I helped train a bot to recognize and interact with conversational cues, as well as perform tasks and provide information to the user. This bot was directly integrated with the Teamcenter application and hosted on the Microsoft Azure Cloud. It could then be used from social platforms such as Skype, Slack, and Facebook Messenger.

I worked with a team of Full-Time Software Engineers to help support the Teamcenter Content Management Application. My responsibilities varied across a wide range, including debugging code errors reported by a third-party proprietary software, programming in C++ to add new functionality and update old code implementations, running and debugging unit tests, as well as setting up automatic testing scripts to run on a remote desktop each time a new Software Baseline was released. Daily progress, pitfalls, and questions were measured through team Scrum Meetings, where we used the Agile Development Process to discuss assigned tasks for each Sprint.
