Network Engineer
CurrentMaintain, install, update, and secure both unclassified and classified network environments using a wide range of Cisco products: Cisco IOS, routers, Layer 2 switches, Access Layer switches, ISE, Firepower, and ACI. Manage critical network components: F5, Palo Alto, VMware NSX, SPLUNK, and collaborate with other departments to identify and develop workflow requirements using ServiceNow system to implement and track changes or modifications. Configure and reconfigure network applications, maintain LAN/WAN environments, manage network security, and process IT service requests and trouble tickets.Perform DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) validations, cable management, and proof of concept testing before implementing new equipment into the production networks. Utilize ACAS, Firepower, and ADSM to monitor security postures. Create and maintain network diagrams using Microsoft Visio application and Standard Operating Procedures.Manage the lifecycle of network devices and provide End of life / end of support prior to equipment expiration. Provide a comprehensive monthly status report on tasks assigned and performed to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).Work after-hours and weekends on occasions supporting both scheduled and unscheduled service interruptions, ensuring continuous network operation and its security.Implemented extension of classified network at layer 2 using KG-175 Flex and developed an SOP for future reference.Renewed CCNA, Cisco CyberOps Associate, CompTIA Network + & Security + certifications.
