I earned my B.A. in Sociology at Ithaca College in 2016. I have 4+ years of experience working in the service industry, and I am a licensed real estate salesperson. Through these positions I have gained valuable skills and experience that will help me advance sales, interact with current and prospective clients, and analyze data.I am interested in commercial real estate because I believe I possess the proper skill set to be successful in this business. From working first hand with customers as a server, to working with a team on research for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, I understand what customers need, what my co-workers will need from me, and how to communicate and problem solve in a way that allows me to deliver positive results.As a server, I was responsible for maintaining the best customer service and overall experience for my guests. This required being able to properly communicate with my co-workers, and our customers. It also required being able to think on my feet and react quickly in any situation. Working at an upscale restaurant has taught me how to perform these skills at a high level. My education, on the other hand, has given me the ability to better understand people. Through analyzing trends, behavioral patterns and interpersonal interactions, the study of sociology has taught me about societal influences and our social world. I have also worked with a team to develop research for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, as stated above. We conducted observational research at a number of food pantries across the Southern Tier, analyzed data both qualitatively and quantitatively, and frequently reported our findings back to the Food Bank. This experience was particularly important because it gave me the ability to work as part of a team towards a tangible goal.
