Jake A. Swanson served as a Senior Program Coordinator for USEA’s Energy Utility Partnership Program, which strengthens the capacity of utility executives and employees in USAID-assisted countries to effectively manage and operate power systems, run financially viable businesses, develop energy resources, design off-grid power sources, and integrate different types of energy resources into their power grids. He was responsible for planning and implementing partnership activities in Africa, Asia, and the United States, including training programs, workshops, conferences, and executive exchanges on clean energy and sustainable development.Jake managed the Greening the Grid-India Partnership, the System Flexibility for Asia Partnership, and the Business Innovation Partnership. His role also supported EUPP's briefings, communications, and the Women in Energy series.

To accomplish this, I attended Congressional hearings, policy events at think tanks, and monitored environmental policy news to write memos for European Union Counselors on Climate, Environment, and Energy. I also contributed to a monthly "Energy Digest" that highlighted key developments and events regarding U.S. energy policy.
