Texan by Nature Conservation Wrangler is an accelerator program that catalyzes the very best Texan-led conservation projects occurring in the state. Selected projects are science-based and demonstrate a positive Return on Conservation for people, prosperity, and natural resources.During each program cycle, Texan by Nature selects up to six Conservation Wrangler projects to support with 18-months of program management, strategic planning, marketing messaging, metrics capture and analysis, professional content production, and partnership development – whatever is needed to accelerate the project. Texan by Nature publicly announces projects annually during the first week in April, and also highlights the projects at the esteemed annual Conservation Summit.

Reporting to the University’s Director of Equal Employment Opportunity Services and Director of Legal Compliance, I work closely with student affairs and conduct, human resources, academic affairs, athletics, and outside counsel to oversee the University’s compliance and educational efforts with regards to Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1964 as amended in 1972, as well as other laws and rules related to sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, gender and interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and related policy violations on campus. As a Deputy Title IX Coordinator, it is my duty to foster a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to academic pursuits and the healthy personal development of all persons.

-Manage high caseload of complex insurance defense cases with direct responsibility with practice areas including Cyber Security, Medical Board, Medical Malpractice, and Construction Defect Litigation. -Draft complex communications, documents, and compliance filings requiring careful preparation and attention to detail. -Analyze issues and courses of action, providing reporting on same to managing partners. -Research and analyze new law impacting on-going and newly filed cases.

-Served as on call outside counsel to various small to medium sized businesses, consulting with CEO/COOs concerning ongoing operational issues, providing advice concerning a wide range of business matters.-Prepared and argued contested motions in state court as well as served as first chair in trials involving litigation, such as breach of contract, bad faith, and fraud.-Prepared for and conducted depositions concerning civil and commercial disputes.-Analyzed complex business relationships and drafted various corporate agreements, including a variety of business and employment contracts, leases, and buy/sell agreements, in line with company polices.-Negotiated settlement of commercial disputes in lieu of wasting litigation dollars, to save clients’ money on bottom line.-Managed average of 50-70 cases with direct responsibility, across wide range of practice areas.-Conducted mediations as Mediator for civil cases.

-Drafted complex pleadings for busy plaintiff’s insurance firm covering various topics from discovery to summary judgment.-Researched and briefed novel legal and policy issues for use in motions and trial argument.

-Drafted and edited complex Wills, Trust Agreements, and various Estate Planning documents.-Managed clients and prepared necessary pleadings and documents for Estate Administration.-Aided in the review of existing Estate Planning documents for enhancement.

-Assisted in the production and editing of articles for publication in various legal journals.-Researched and developed case material for both an upcoming Professional Responsibility course and Human Rights Seminar.

-Prepared research and review materials for the judge concerning pending cases.-Observed every step in the state litigation process.

-Draft pleadings, motions, and interoffice memorandum. -Aid in developing case strategy.-Research and analyze law sources to prepare drafts for review, approval, and use by attorney.

-Assisted with case preparation, including evidence collection and discovery organization.-Facilitated, managed, and assisted interoffice functions, including purchasing and inventory.-Acted as liaison between firm and client, both in the office and in the community.
