Design team which competes in EcoCar Challenges to reengineer vehicles to accommodate electric propulsion systems and implement automated vehicle technology.Member of the Systems Design and Integration (SDI) subteam responsible for component layout, wiring and solving the complex mechanical challenges involved with reengineering a vehicle.

· Utilized surface modeling to optimize a cavity shape for a turbine blade crack repair. Coordinated with Design Engineering to make changes between iterations to reduce max stress.· Modeled and created definition for a hydraulic powered fixture cart using product manufacturing information (PMI), allowing for manufacturing to reproduce the fixture in the future.· Trained in drafting and definition techniques, product lifecycle management, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Worked with both the Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams over the course of a 15 month period.Product Engineering:Designed wire harnesses for customer orders, corresponding between field application engineers, planning, purchasing, and production. This included creating bills of material, routings, manufacturing drawings, wiring schematics and validating quoted designs.Manufacturing Engineering:Investigated and improved manufacturing processes from writing procedures to developing new tools and fixtures. This included:- Writing and revising over two dozen procedures in the mechanical assembly department to conform to ISO 9001 standards.- Designed and oversaw the fabrication of a rack and panel assembly in the plating center which removes impurities from the gold baths. It also could be picked up and moved from bath to bath by a remote controlled hoist already present in the facility.- Implementing a Vision System in the electrical contact and module department. Wrote programs, created an instructional document, and designed mounting fixtures for the cameras.
