Rock Hill Green Homes owner Jake Young and his team offer much more than a deep and broad skill set to every home-building and home-improving project. They also bring their hearts, intuitions, creativity, and a rich connection with the natural systems that sustain life on our planet.Personally skilled with carpentry, framing, tilework, flooring, drywall, painting, mosaic artistry and more, Jake hires skilled craftspeople and tradespeople on a per project basis to bring each project to life. With a promise of quality, dedication and durability, Jake and his team build the physical structures and also tune the relationships between the space and the surrounding natural systems.Also serving clients with remodeling projects.

1995-1997 Jake built house additions, followed by a focus on hardwood, ceramic, tile, vinyl and carpet flooring installation through 2005.2005 through present Jake has served his customers with remodeling and repairs, applying his skills of carpentry, framing, tilework, flooring, drywall, painting, tuckpointing, mosaic artistry and much more. He builds additions and remodels kitchens and bathrooms, as well as many other types of projects. (From prior years, he also has experience building homes in the 1980's with contractor Tim Young.)

Co-owned and managed the combined Grumblin Muffin coffee shop and Beal's Ice Cream, as well as Yum's Diner across the street.

As carpenter, built houses with contractor Tim Young 1985 & 1989.

Grew up on Flaggy Meadow dairy farm and started working the farm around age eight through end of high school (10 years). Learned all phases of carpentry from frame to finish, taught by father and five older brothers. Built structures, used hand tools for many tasks, painted structures, installed concrete pads, operated farm equipment, planted feed crops, managed haying crew, harvested hay, mucked out barn, milked cows.
