About Jake Gingerich
I struggled early in my business career. As a Christian, I wrestled with the purpose of business. Is it really just to maximize the value of the firm and profit for shareholders? Shouldn't it be much more than that? I considered changing careers because I wasn't sure if a life in business was a life well spent.But over the years I've realized that business can be a tremendous force for the common good. It can be done to the glory of God. But to do that, it needs to be redeemed. I don't believe the main purpose of a business is solely to maximize profit, but instead to serve customers. Of course, profit is important. Businesses should strive to be profitable. But it's not its main purpose. To do business well, we need to know why we do what we do. And I love helping companies find and share their "why". Likewise, I believe marketing needs to be redeemed. Marketing isn't about convincing people to buy things they don't need. It's about serving people by helping them make the best decisions.So that's why I'm passionate about business and marketing. Not just for business itself. But because I believe it's one of the best ways to love and serve others.Although I work in marketing, I hate selling myself. So here are 6 quick facts about me and my work.1) I currently work for Lifeway helping to serve and delight our customers through marketing operations. 2) My specialties:- Marketing Operations- Martech- Marketing Strategy- Inbound Marketing- Demand Gen- Marketing Automation- Email Marketing- Marketing Analytics3) I LOVE reading and learning. Since 2017 I've made (and kept!) a goal of reading 52 books a year. I read about business, marketing, theology, and even some fiction every now and then. Let me know if you ever need a new recommendation. (And yes, listening to audiobooks counts as reading.)4) I recently received my MBA from Biola University where I explored what it means for business to be transformed by the gospel.5) I once landed a plane. Yes, a real airplane. No, I don't have a pilot's license. Ask me about it sometime.6) Traveling and exploring new places is one of my favorite things to do.
