My career in culinary arts started during my freshman year of high school. I attended a vocational school and took part in hands-on culinary classes. Soon after I earned a spot on our ProStart competition team. I was a part of this team in my junior and senior years, while also acting as our lacrosse teams' captain. I graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a BA in Food Science and Nutrition. During college, my main focus was on becoming a research and development chef. I found that type of work to be fascinating because it utilized the fine-tuned skills I have developed through kitchen work, in conjunction with newly learned scientific knowledge. I have worked in the culinary industry my whole life and would consider myself experienced kitchen personnel. I have recently taken a step outside my comfort zone by taking on a role in FOH operations. I took on the role of Banquet Manager at Alpine Country Club and was quickly promoted to Food and Beverage Manager. While my expertise lay within the realm of the kitchen, I refuse to shy away from a challenge! I have a "can-do" attitude and I understand what it takes to get a job done. I instill motivation and work ethic into my teams attitudes in order to create a more positive and productive work environment for all involved. I do not view myself as being above any type of job either. Whether it is washing dishes, taking out the trash, vacuuming the dining room, etc. I will gladly get it done if it means I will be assisting my team towards success.
