As training operations coordinator and outreach coordinator for ACT, I will coach members on carrying out training sessions, focusing on encouraging and overseeing members' outreach efforts and serving as a liaison for community partners interested in private training sessions. I will also provide guidance and oversight to the ACT 'squads' and ensure they are meeting benchmarks and deadlines. In addition to ACT, I will continue to assist on the Michigan Overdose Data to Action project, including coordination of the MODA Community website and outreach to related stakeholders.

RISE mentors are a part of the RISE learning community within the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement (OMSE). Mentors guide a group of self-identifying women of color at Wayne State University. RISE mentors work to empower these women through planning and biweekly discussions on relevant topics, organizing events for social development, and arranging study tables to encourage academic success by implementing study techniques. The primary purpose of RISE mentors is to serve to support an underrepresented group on campus by planning, promoting, and managing regular programs to create a space of diversity and inclusion. RISE Mission: RISE is a learning community within OMSE that provides identity-based programs for self-identifying women of color. It is a community that aims to protect the retention of these undergrad and graduate women. As Wayne State is a Predominantly White Institution (PWI), we are in place to support one another’s experience on campus. RISE provides a safe space for these WOC to develop leadership, scholarship, sisterhood, and deeper self-actualization through this programming. We aim to create a community that focuses on identity development, promotes self-reflection, and embraces intersectionality all while celebrating the diversity that influences our lives!

The Multicultural Student Advisory and Programming Board (MSAPB) acts as the bridge between the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement (OMSE) and students across the Wayne State campus. The MSAPB works to empower underrepresented groups by creating a space to highlight, acknowledge, and celebrate diversity and identities. The primary purpose of the MSAPB is to plan, market, and facilitate heritage based and identity-based programs for OMSE.

DLIVE is focused on improving the outcomes for one of Detroit's most misunderstood and unserved populations - youth/young adults caught in the cycle of Community Violence. As DLIVE'S office is headquartered in Northwest Detroit, DLIVE serves Detroit's most densely populated areas of the city. Despite the recent waves of economic revitalization and recovery in the city, the gap between this opportunity and Detroit's most vulnerable young adults in this area continues to widen. With decades of generational trauma, housing discrimination, redlining, and divestment, many Detroit communities have become hotbeds of preventable illness, infant mortality, poverty, adverse childhood experiences, violence, and more. However, with increased understanding and awareness, there are opportunities to radically transform the trajectory of the future. DLIVE works to disrupt the structural violence that is propped up by systemic inequity.By creating a hub of health and wellness with pathways to prosperity, DLIVE spurs revitalization in communities that have been historically marginalized - thereby contributing to a more equitable and racially just Detroit. DLIVE fields a multidisciplinary team of Community Experts, Engagement and Navigation Specialists, Mental Health Therapists, Public Health and Data Experts, Health Policy Specialists, and Physicians.

MODA Community is a website that provides a networking space for people across Michigan who are acting against the opioid overdose crisis, where stakeholders can share information, learn from one another, and stay connected. The MODA Outreach Assistant encourages the use of the MODA Community website by conducting outreach to stakeholders throughout Michigan to provide information about the site and how to access and engage with the platform.MODA Outreach Assistant Work Description:Conduct outreach to stakeholders throughout Michigan with the goal of recruiting new MODA Community site users (via phone calls, emails, social media, etc.). Research organizations that are working to address the opioid overdose crisis in Michigan or other intersectional priority areas, and invite them to join the MODA Community site. Organize Zoom meetings with stakeholders as needed to provide more information about the MODA Community site and opportunities for engagement. Effectively use the contact database (CRM) to track communications with stakeholders. Encourage use of the MODA Community site for peer learning and networking through use of interactive posts and direct communications with site users. Invite stakeholders to participate in an Organization Takeover week on the site to highlight their efforts to address the opioid overdose crisis. Attend meetings with supervising staff and program partners as needed. Track relevant outputs (ex: number of stakeholder contacted, number of new users on the site, etc.) and meet established goals. Maintain work plans, task lists, and project calendars on a regular basis. Communicate with supervising staff about progress. Assist with other responsibilities as necessary to advance MODA program objectives
