With a DEA and Master of Science, Information Systems from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), France, Jamal is a seasoned Leader Executive with successful track record within telecommunications and information technology businesses where he demonstrated leadership and shareholder value building track record within operational start-ups, mergers & acquisitions, and mature company turnarounds in Middle East and Africa. In 1985, he joined Bull the French-owned computer company as Chief Engineer and then Head of Business Unit. In 1995, he joined France Telecom Mobile Lebanon as Chief Information Officer to move in 1996 to Investcom Group as Chief Operating Officer. Jamal was key in pursuing strategic business development opportunities and operational performance in the mobile telecommunications business. In 2006, Jamal joined MTN Group as Vice-President overseeing MTN’s Middle East and North-Africa operations. He played a valuable role in integrating Investcom in the MTN fold and in positioning MTN as a formidable operator and recognized brand in the Middle East. In 2012, Jamal re-joined M1 Group and is the CEO of M1 Enterprises. The main focus comprised Towerco business, Education, Industries (Production and distribution)and Energy development.Across the years Jamal played multiple board of directors positions as non executive Chairman and member providing value added in corporate governance, strategy definition and control.
