My responsibilities were calling patients that had more than two chronic conditions once every month, updating their information and making sure they were not having anything serious and that their chart is up to date as much as possible. At the dermatology clinic, I assisted in getting the patient's rooms ready, checking the patients in and taking their vitals and a brief short history. I prepared patients for full skin examinations if needed and assisted the Doctor in Minor procedures like shave and Punch Biopsies. I had to note down each medical procedure done, label down skin specimens and package these appropriately to be send regularly to the Lab. At the primary care clinic, I updated any new history for the patients and uploaded any new documents to the electronic medical records. The EMR system used there was MEDNT. I also had learned doing ECGs and Spirometry tests.

I collaborated with Dr. Khan in the pulmonary department. Our rounds in the MICU involve checking on patients alongside a team of PAs, NPs, and respiratory therapists. Dr. Khan often assigns me consults on the medical floor, where I conduct comprehensive histories, perform physical exams, and later present the cases. In the clinic, before Dr. Khan sees patients, I enter the room, gather a full history, perform a physical exam, and discuss pulmonary function test results. I then provide a concise case presentation to Dr. Khan. Working with Dr. Khan has been an incredible opportunity. This was a 3-week rotation in the department of Hepatology at Baylor Scott and White center, Dallas, under-supervision of Dr. Elwir. I attended the outpatient clinics, inpatient rounds, endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. As one of the largest transplant centers in the United States, I had theopportunity to attend the weekly liver transplant selection conferences for the liver transplant candidates in Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. I had an idea about how patients were selected on the transplant list according to their MELD score.I had seen multiple cases of acetaminophen toxicity and how King's college criteria identifies patients with acetaminophen induced liver failure. I had seen multiple cases of alcoholic liver cirrhosis and Primary Biliary Cholangitis.

During my six-month volunteer observorship at ECMC in Buffalo, NY, I had the privilege of working closely with Dr. Sozen, an internist. I spent three to four days a week at the hospital, starting each day by assisting Dr. Sozen in seeing a diverse range of patients. My responsibilities includedconducting thorough patient histories, performing physical exams, and actively participating in the formulation of diagnoses and treatment plans under Dr. Sozen's guidance. We would then proceed to various consultations in the Emergency Department and medical wards. Additionally, I providedassistance to Dr. Sozen with tasks such as navigating the electronic medical records system and helping with documentation. This experience also involved working night shifts alongside Dr. Sozen, providing me with valuable insights into the demanding yet rewarding life of a hospitalist. Overall, this opportunity allowed me to gain firsthand exposure to the responsibilities and challenges faced by physicians in a hospital setting.

Working as a General practitioner in Istishari Arab Hospital, I was responsible for admitting patients, taking care of patients in the wards, outpatient clinics and in the ER. Assisting specialists in doing minor inpatient and outpatient procedures. I had to learn a lot of administrative work as I wasresponsible for uploading patient information and history into the system, schedule new and follow up appointments.
