The project manager at Go Web Solutions manages several website projects simultaneously. The process starts with initially meeting new clients and then planning, monitoring and planning again during all phases of work. The Project Manager is expected to expect the unexpected; but equally important is the ability to keep things rolling when the path is smooth. This is done by keeping the team motivated and using success as a buffer for unpredictable events, rather than an excuse to take a pit stop.A project comes to an end when the website has been tested and is live, but the relationship with the client has just begun for the project manager and his team. This is because updates are often made to keep the website fresh and marketing the website is an ongoing process. This is either done by the project manager himself, or by the client who often receives training from the team.Working with a small group, the onus to develop code for projects is, more often than not, in the hands of the PM. This requires expertise in such technologies as HTML, CSS, Sass, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, PHP, Wordpress, Magento and a slew of other frameworks and languages used on the web. The need to lead others in performing this task is essential, both with the knowledge to do so and the tireless drive to keep things moving when the road is rough.Support and customer satisfaction comes last in this description, but is the not least important by any means; perhaps it is most important. A website can only be as good as it's owner, so as project manager, training clientele to operate and get the most out of their website is an essential variable to a successful web project. This includes training clients on using Wordpress, Magento, Google Analytics and various other tools to get the most from the internet. A website must also be updated and maintained.As project manager I performed these tasks, steering a small team across the finish line for multiple projects.
