Headline remit involves partnering with key internal stakeholders across Business Change, Product Marketing, IT, Operations and Transformation to ensure predictable high quality software delivery across multiple complex workstreams whilst in parallel transforming the organisation to handle current, emerging and future market demands. As Head of Engineering (previously Head of Delivery) I am accountable for shaping and driving IT change delivery for Close Brothers Motor Finance, covering all aspects of Software Engineering and modern Lean Agile delivery.With a passion for improving ways of working and building great teams, I am continuously evolving and motivating our people (individually and collaboratively) to create a step-change in IT delivery, helping Close Brothers Group evolve from traditional waterfall/ITIL/projects to modern Lean Agile Continuous Delivery and DevSecOps, employing a range of techniques with measurable performance indicators and well-defined implementing tactics (including strategic talent acquisition and growth, data insight, cost optimisation, SDLC maturity frameworks, and enablement partnerships) to create a clear vision and execution approach for Motor Finance and the wider bank in collaboration.

I joined CBMF at the start of its multi-year, £multi-million Transformation Programme to drive a step-change in CBMFs IT delivery capability, helping CBMF pivot from traditional waterfall projects to more modern and effective iterative delivery, laying the foundations for our new post-Programme operating model and helping CBMF (and the wider organisation) embrace a shift to Lean Agile, Continuous Delivery and DevSecOps. Achievements to date include: the strategic migration from monolithic legacy systems to lightweight micro services on a new fit-for-purpose platform; improved monitoring, self-healing and fast in-hours automated deployment; the standardisation of processes from design to release; the adoption of Lean Agile and Scrum with elements of SAFe across multiple delivery teams with a culture of high-performance; high employee engagement scores; improved estimation and predictability across all work streams; increased throughput by 400%; enabled the simultaneous delivery of multiple workstreams (between 7 and 11); improved quality of delivery from 70% to 98%; introduced a culture of Continuous Improvement and value-based prioritisation; successfully delivered a long list of sizeable high-value change initiatives on time / budget; helped define and execute the post-Programme Lean Agile IT Operating model.

Responsible for leading the Nicholas Associates Commercial Software division, which specialises in providing cutting-edge Work Placement Management, CRM and Management Information solutions for Education Business Partnerships (EBPs), schools, colleges and universities.Headline duties are to: drive the strategic direction of the Software business and its commercial products; lead on business development, marketing and sales; and oversee product implementation and on-going customer care.Since 2008, the Nicholas Associates Software division has become one of the leading suppliers in its various markets, and this year the All Together software platform will be used to facilitate the delivery of over 1.3 million placements across England and Wales.
