I have one of the best teaching assignments a teacher could ask for. I get to help students learn about and understand the world of things and stuff!! So Cool!!! In engineering I help them learn the design process and how to apply it through the use of 3D CAD and model making. In robotics, I help my student discover how to incorporate engineering design with problem solving through the use of mechanisms, motors, sensors, and programming. Then in physics and systems of matter, we explore why the physical world is the way it is.On top of these great courses, I also have the pleasure of being the head coach and mentor for the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition team: Tech Storm #2523. Together, we get to design, build, and program a 120 pound, remote controlled robot that plays a new and challenging game of skill and cooperation. Could you really ask for anything more?
