I am a graduate entry medical student with significant interests in ophthalmology, psychiatry, medical education and medical law. I am currently undertaking an intercalated MSc in Medical Education. I have completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Eye Care Governance through Cardiff University, where I previously completed my MPhil in Vision Science and Psychology & BSc (Hons) Optometry and Vision Science. I have significant experience in teaching and education, having taught undergraduate and postgraduate optometry and medical students at Cardiff University, and working as an assessor for the College of Optometrists. In addition to this, I was elected to the Association of Optometrists council in 2021 to represent members in Wales, and have been elected to multiple roles with the BMA, including the Professional Regulation Committee, Welsh Medical Student Committee, and Medical Student Committee (of which I am currently deputy co-chair for finance). For the 2023-24 academic year, I am undertaking the ‘PsychStar’ scheme with the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I also work part time as a locum optometrist within the South Wales area, with experience working in independent, and larger corporate practices. I am EHEW/WECS accredited, and have completed the the College of Optometrists Professional Certificate in Paediatric Eye Care. I also have experience of hospital optometry having worked at the University Hospital of Wales, and significant research experience having undertaken research in conjunction with the Huntington's Disease Centre at Cardiff University.
