Group Financial Controller for a supplier of supported living facilities for adults with complex needs and specialist conditions, operating over 40 homes.

Financial Controller for the Bus division of the Abellio Group, heading up the finance team and reporting to the Finance Director. My key roles/responsibilities include:• Ensuring the accurate processing and reporting of financial transactions, including ensuring that accurate processes and controls are in place.• Financial Reporting, including implementation of new accounting standards and the statutory audit.• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including tax regulations including corporate and employee tax.• Managing a team of five direct reports, and relationship with the Group shared service centre, where another four employees are based.• Responsible for the payroll department, ensuring that over 2,000 employees are paid correctly on a weekly payroll.• Production of monthly management accounts, Board report and reporting to Group.

Responsible for the delivery of some of the firm’s risker, higher profile audit clients as well as being one of the senior managers leading the operations of the audit department. Examples of roles/responsibilities include:• Manage the process of the audit, being the key point of contact internally and with the client, including with senior management.• Significant experience across a range of industries including publishing, media, professional practise and manufacturing. Clients include full list, AIM listed and large privately-owned companies, covering both IFRS and UK GAAP.• Manage audit teams and act as direct line manager for several members of the audit department.• Responsible for areas of the operations of the audit department, including working capital management.• Extensive involvement in recruitment for the department at all levels from first year accountancy students to managers.
