I have always tried to stay on a career path that would lead me to a management position while working professionally. I feel that my core strength is working with people. I treat each person who works for me as equal and an important asset to the team. I make it a point to help them achieve their goals and understand what makes them the most productive. My job as a manager is to keep each person on track with schedules and encourage them to feel free to notify me if they are having issues making their commitment early enough so schedules are not impacted. I make it a point that my team knows up front that the only thing that ever upsets me is lack of communication. I can't help if you don't tell me. My style is to see the big picture and understand the key points the details I encourage my team to workout. I believe people want that freedom away from micro-managing and want to be accountable and in the end I believe it brings a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. Positive reenforcement that builds good team sprit and it works very well if you trust the people. Whenever I am put in a leadership role I utilize this method of teamwork/management style and am always very successful.
