James Chen is Technical Solutions Consultant in Google, providing technical engineering consultation to partner stakeholders and advise them on end-to-end process life cycles support from pre-launch, to deployment, to ongoing support of daily business. He builds custom scalable technical solutions, develop tools, monitors products' performance, develops and customizes repeatable technical solutions, and identify opportunities to scale and grow Google's business. He also played the role of Technical Program Manager in Google Nest, working with platform, app, cloud, QA, factory, customer support, and product management teams internationally to lead new product launches and software releases. Prior to joining Google in 2018, he was Technical Solutions Architect of Intel Artificial Intelligence Product Group responsible for providing technical consultation and developing business in Asia. James joined Intel in 2012 and besides AI has held various engineering and sales positions, including Manageability Engine Engineering Technologist, Chromebook Technical Lead, and Wearables Technical Solutions Architect. For Chromebook, he also served as a consultant to manufacture Intel’s first in-house Chromebook reference design in US factory, and later on rotated to Google headquarter in MTV to lead USB Type-C testing solution development. Before joining Intel, he was Sr. Software Engineer of various types of network products at Foxconn, where he filed several US patents and was the elite to be selected as a visiting scientist to join MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) to work on an object recognition research project, supervised by Prof. Antonio Torralba. His master thesis work, advised by Prof. Wen-Thong Chang, was on a large-scale multimedia streaming server equipped with surveillance cameras and auto-detection algorithms. His research includes networking, multimedia compression and streaming, and embedded RTOS. He holds B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto, and M.S. in Communications Engineering from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU).
